LITTLE FREE LIBRARY GRAND OPENING WITH SUPERSONIC HUG AUTHORS IS A HUGE SUCCESS!

 (ST. GEORGE, UTAH) What a celebration! Residents from the Desert Color community gathered at Fire Sky Park to officially open the very first Little Free Library, and it was a night to remember. Cloudy skies, happy vibes and 80 weather made for a perfect atmosphere. 

A special highlight of the evening was the chance to hear readings by local authors, adding the perfect literary touch to the event. The Supersonic Hug Authors Ron and Christine DiGrandi were featured readers and read their series #1 book – The Supersonic Hug Begins In The USA to kids and families. About 400 residents turned out to enjoy today’s festivities. 

“We are so grateful to the committee and residents who brought this vision to life—from fundraising and construction to planning such a joyful grand opening,” said Ms. Voros. 

She continued, “this Little Free Library belongs to all of us, and we invite every resident to stop by often: leave a book, take a book, and share the love of reading with our growing community. We want to do this to promote literacy, and have kids experience the fun of igniting their imagination through reading. We want children’s books in all of our little libraries that kids can walk up to and get a free book to read and enjoy.” 

Local business came together and dished up great food and entertainment. Residents enjoyed games, fun prizes, balloon twisting, delicious bites from food trucks, and lively music filling the park. 

Desert Color community and The Supersonic Hug authors would like to give a special “thank you” acknowledgement to the following people whom without their volunteer efforts the Little Free Library project would not have come to reality. They are: Tina Pierson – Lifestyle Director DC (assisted with planning & executing the event); Michael McClellan – built & installed the libraries; Toni Hammond – painted libraries; Jennifer Johnson – Assistant Community Manager DC (organized the Volunteer Committee and assisted with approval of the library) 

ABOUT THE SUPERSONIC HUG CHILDREN’S BOOK SERIES The Supersonic Hug children’s book series, merchandise and YouTube Channel: Storytime with Mimi & Grandpa DiGrandi – introduces ‘the greatest hug in the world,’ The Supersonic Hug. Plus, each book will contain some words and phrases translated into one of the country’s native languages that the hug is introduced to, which will encourage children to learn other languages.
